
Preventive Medicine 2013, the annual meeting of the American College of Preventive Medicine, is the leading annual gathering of physicians, health professionals, health care organizations, government agencies, and others committed to disease prevention and health promotion. The meeting will present state-of-the art research and innovations in four major areas: Population Health Practice, Clinical Preventive Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine Practice, Technology and Informatics; and Medical Quality.

- Provide content that explores the spectrum of prevention from clinical practice to population medicine.
- Provide clinical practitioners with opportunities to increase clinical skills and enhance relevant population medicine skills.

In recognition of many years of esteemed service and contributions to a wide array of global health issues, Dr. Foege was recently honored with the highly esteemed Presidential Medal of Freedom. The Medal of Freedom is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors. The awards were presented at the White House in late spring (picture from the ceremony, at left). ACPM congratulates Dr. Foege on this significant achievement.
